ENVIPURE has secured two new contracts to design and build the RO- and Waste-water Treatment Plant as part of Infineon Melaka plant expansion project.

These awards were placed with ENVIPURE following the successful completion and hand-over of the Process Exhaust scrubber for acid abatement in Jan 2018 at the same Infineon Site.

Infineon Melaka has selected ENVIPURE for its quality, proven reference plants and on-time delivery. Together with Infineon, ENVIPURE collaborated extensively in value engineering and offered a design that is not only technically compliant but also competitively priced. The plants will be integrated to the existing CUF facility, and ENVIPURE’s strong reputation and capability to construct a new plant in a live and operational manufacturing environment guarantees minimum downtime during the critical tie-in phase.

Infineon Technologies AG is headquartered in Germany, and its subsidiary Infineon Melaka is its largest assembly and test facility with a total building area of 123,500 m² and a workforce of more than 8,000 people.

Besides the driving factors of being cost competitive and assuring timely delivery, Infineon Melaka has chosen ENVIPURE as her environmental engineering partner to reap the benefits of interfacing with only a single company that possesses in-house capabilities in all 3 key technologies of ultra-pure water, waste water and process exhaust solutions.

ENVIPURE has also recently completed similar integrated projects at RISIS electroplating plant in Malaysia and A-STAR FUSIONOPOLIS semi-conductor R&D facility in Singapore, for the scope of ultra-pure water, industrial waste water and process exhaust systems.

ENVIPURE will continue its present Operations and Maintenance contract of Choa Chu Kang Waterworks’s sludge treatment plant after PUB Singapore awarded the extension to ENVIPURE for another 3 years. Although not being the lowest priced bidder, ENVIPURE secured the contract on qualitative merits for its reliability, quality, safety track record and quick response time to recover unplanned situations.

The scope of the contract include 24/7 O&M of the sludge thickener system, filter press, chemical dosing system, compressed-air system, sludge-cake handling equipment and associated electrical, instrument and control systems.

ENVIPURE has been operating and maintaining the sludge treatment plant in CCK Waterworks since 2015, and has performed impeccably demonstrated through a strong record of high plant availability. ENVIPURE’s Project Manager Umyo Thihawin said, “ENVIPURE’s resident team of technicians and engineers are very focused in meeting the KPIs of the high plant availability and low downtime, and this can only be attained by inculcating a strong “preventive maintenance” mindset, and a deep culture of working safely”.

Besides offering EPC services for new plant engineering, equipment supply and construction services, ENVIPURE also actively participates in the plant O&M business for water, air-pollution, odor-control and sludge treatment plants. Leveraging ENVIPURE’s in-house capability in process know-how, the O&M team is able to tap and offer highly value-added services to the plant Owners. Hence, through analysis of plant performance data and process optimization by ENVIPURE, the throughput of the existing infrastructure can be increased coupled with reduction in chemical and energy consumptions.

PETRONAS AND FLUOR-TECHNIP AWARDS RAPID CONTRACT TO ENVIPURE

ENVIPURE has secured the contract to design, supply and commission the mega-scale Demineralized Water Plant for the Centralized Utility Plant at Petronas RAPID Project, Malaysia. Located at Pengerang, the RAPID Project is a world-class integrated refinery and petrochemical complex comprising of a refinery of 300,000 barrels per day capacity, a naphtha steam cracker of 1.28 million tons per year of ethylene capacity, petrochemicals units, utilities and various infrastructures.

Petronas and the Project Management Consultant, Fluor-Technip JV, have selected ENVIPURE for the project after a rigorous technical assessment of its capability, not only in design engineering, but also in ENVIPURE’s capability to manage its supply chain of equipment vendors. When completed, the Demineralized Water Plant will supply 1,380 m3/hof demineralized water to all end-users located at the RAPID Complex. The feed-water source is tapped from the river containing high colloidal-Silica, and ENVIPURE’s plant consists of a pre-treatment facility utilizing advance UF-Membrane to remove the colloidal-Si before treatment utilizing ENVIPURE’s proprietary ion-exchange columns. ENVIPURE has collaborated closely with its technology partner, Pentair, in integrating a new “tight” UF-membrane (MWCO=10kDa) with special capabilities to remove colloidal-Si.

In addition to the Demineralized Water Plant, ENVIPURE’s scope include the design, supply and commission of the PCC Condensate Polisher of 1,000 m3/h, CCC Condensate Polisher of 1,000 m3/h and the Oily-Condensate Coalescer Plant of 1,000 m3/h.

ENVIPURE is the technology licensee partner of DOW Chemicals for the UPCORE® and AMBERPACK® , two of the most advance ion-exchange technology for the production of high-purity water, and this close technical cooperation has successfully resulted in the implementation of the proprietary packed-bed treatment process in a number of global energy projects for the utility power plant and oil & gas industries.

A special requirement for this project is the 3D-Modelling of the plant using Intergraph Smart-Plant software. ENVIPURE’s Engineering Manager Franklin Song said, “The use of Smart-Plant PID, Electrical, Instrument and 3D suite has allowed close and seamless collaboration with our Customer Fluor-Technip’s overall design engineering works. Although we had to invest more time upfront to configure the software, the productivity gains and real-time collaboration has benefited ENVIPURE. We now possess strong capabilities to design plant piping and structures details to a high-degree of accuracy, and this will enable ENVIPURE to better integrate the work-process with our skids and piping fabrication partners.”

This second Petronas RAPID project is testimonial of ENVIPURE’s commitment and success in design and build of high-purity water treatment plants for the oil & gas, petrochemical and power-utility sectors. In 2012, ENVIPURE was awarded the Petronas MLNG Bintulu project to design, supply, construct and commission the Demineralised Water Plant and Condensate Polisher for the new 360 ton/hr boiler, now in full commercial operation.

Leveraging on ENVIPURE’s strong and proven track record in treatment of odor from sewage treatment plants (STP), ENVIPURE has been selected to design, supply equipment, install and commission a new Odor Control Facility with capacity of 40,000 m3/h for the Kuala Langat STP, Malaysia. The Odor Control Facility comprises of ENVIPURE’s proprietary BioCAS Bio-trickling Filter followed by Activated Carbon Filter as a polisher prior to emission to the atmosphere. ENVIPURE’s biological treatment technology to treat odor offers the advantages of chemical-free operatios and reduced maintenance for the Owners.

ENVIPURE had earlier in Jul 2015 been awarded a similar Odor Control Facility for the Kuala Langat STP, Malaysia, also utilizing the BioCAS technology with a treatment capacity of 15,000 m3/h. ENVIPURE’s CEO said, “As part of Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Plan, the government has committed to high capex for revamping existing STPs and constructing new STPs. ENVIPURE has been awarded the Algeria Mega Deal project from Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction for the Demineralized Water Plant and Waste Water Treatment Plant at two different combined-cycle power plants located in Mostaghanem and Naama, Algeria. This culminates a repeat order from Samsung C&T, after the first successful cooperation between ENVIPURE and this largest Korean EPC Group in the Prai Malaysia CCGT in 2013.

The Algeria Mega Deal is a series of power plant investment project lead by Sonelgaz, with the plan to build a total of 1,600 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant in six areas in Algeria.

The scope of supply from ENVIPURE includes the design, equipment supply and commissioning of 2 trains x 36 m3/h Demineralized Water Plant at each location Mostaghanem and Naama. In addition, ENVIPURE will design and supply equipment for the Waste Water Treatment Plant to treat oily water, chemical waste water and sanitary waste water.

ENVIPURE’s CEO Vincent Wong said, “This is another significant landmark project for ENVIPURE in our foray to export our water treatment technology to the MENA region. ENVIPURE has secured the contract to design and build three main systems of ultra-pure water, waste water and process exhaust systems for the prestigious Fusionopolis project in Singapore. When completed, Fusionopolis will be the main R&D Hub for A*Star in the field of microelectronics and advanced material research.

GS E&C, the giant and global EPC-company from South Korea, was awarded the Main Contract in early 2012. The design and build nature of the contract provided ENVIPURE the opportunity to collaborate closely with GS from the onset of the project. Significant design resources were spent in perspective of value engineering, space management, material selections and plant automation, and all these factors will be incorporated during construction, hence offering the end-user Customer with a highly safe, sustainable and friendly built environment.

ENVIPURE’s scope of work include turnkey design and build of :

  • the ultra-pure water plant, generating ultra-pure water exceeding 18 MΩ-cm, and including the entire RO-DI piping distribution loop to the production tools
  • the waste water treatment plant including the drain and collection piping network
  • the process exhaust scrubbers for treatment of acid, caustic, VOC/solvent and silane –polluted air-streams, including each of the ductwork systems
After the design build phase, ENVIPURE will also be responsible for the O&M Phase of all the three plants for a period of 2 years.

ENVIPURE expands its export of water treatment plant to Pakistan

ENVIPURE chalks further success in its water technology export strategy from its Singapore base with a recent order from Hyundai E&C for the supply of demineralised water treatment plant to Pakistan. The end-user is Attock Refinery Ltd (ARL), the national oil company of Pakistan. The plant is situated in a water-stressed region and ENVIPURE's demineralised water treatment plant will purify sea-water and supply high-purity water to the refinery for process use.

The process design of the plant comprise of pre-treatment, RO modules and UV post treatment. The scope of supply includes design, equipment supply, installation supervision and commissioning of the plant.

Hyundai E&C is the overall Main Contractor of the ARL project. In 2012, ENVIPURE had secured another order from Hyundai E&C for supply of demineralised water treatment plant for the Bir El Msana Oilfield in Algeria. This new order is a clear recognition and testimonial of ENVIPURE's capability to execute complex project that transcends national boundaries in which ENVIPURE has to coordinate design with offices in Singapore, Seoul and Rawalpindi, as well as buying and integration of plant components through its global outsourcing network.

Infineon Kulim Malaysia has awarded the caustic scrubber system to ENVIPURE for treatment of process exhaust from the wafer-fab. To be implemented on a fast-track basis, this turn-key project is part of Infineon's expansion plan and represents a repeat order for ENVIPURE at the same facility.

The scope of supply includes ENVIPURE’s proprietary scrubber reactor, fan, process internal packings and demister, stack, SSTC ductworks and PLC. The capacity of the plant is designed to 30,000 m3/h and will be designed and commissioned to comply with the regulatory emission standards of the Department of Environment of Malaysia.

ENVIPURE continues to dominate the SG semi-conductor market in air-pollution control scrubbers with recent orders from M+W for the Micron fab and Takasago for the GlobalFoundries fab. The scrubbers will be designed for abatement of acids, with a capacity of 1 x 90,000 m3/h and 2 x 45,000 m3/h respectively.

ENVIPURE's proprietary chemical scrubbers were supplied to Micron and GF during the Base-build phase in 2010 and 2009 respectively. These repeat orders are part of the current expansion plans for both plants and represent a clear recognition of the quality performance and after-sales technical support that ENVIPURE has accorded to its Customers. Both installations are highly complex and involve tie-in to live process exhaust ductworks containing contaminated and toxic gases.

The projects will be delivered on a fast-track basis and the turnkey scope of supply includes design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning of the chemical scrubber systems, consisting of the scrubber reactor, process internal packings and demister, fan, stack, duct works, recirculation pumps, instruments and PLC.

ENVIPURE has successfully commissioned the air-pollution control system for the new P&G Innovation Centre in Singapore. The system consist of 2 x acid scrubbers (36,000 + 48,750 m3/h), 2 x activated-carbon filter (36,000 + 48,750 m3/h), dust collector system and general exhaust fans. This comprehensive process exhaust system was awarded to ENVIPURE on a turnkey basis including design, equipment supply, installation and commissioning.

With this latest success, ENVIPURE adds to its list of proven reference plants and today is the global leader in treatment of process exhaust for the semi-conductors and municipal industry with a total installed base of more than 10,000,000 m3/h.

The P&G Innovation Centre is set-up as the regional R&D centre for Asia to conduct leading edge technology in new product development. Together with their design consultant CH2MHill and main contractor TEE, ENVIPURE's proprietary chemical scrubber system was selected as the most compliant and cost effective solution from an overall life-cycle perspective.

When operational, this state-of-art air-pollution control plant will guarantee the removal of contaminant acids, VOC and PM, to meet the highest emission standards in Singapore.

STATS ChipPAC has awarded to ENVIPURE the solvent exhaust system for its WLB Expansion at Fab 1A in Singapore. The plant is designed to a capacity of 3 x 120,000 m3/h and includes a double-bed activated-carbon absorption reactor for abatement of solvent and VOC contaminated process exhaust. In addition to design and supply of its proprietary equipment, ENVIPURE will also be responsible for live tie-in of the installation while the Fab is in production.

The plant is due for commissioning by end 2013 and thereafter ENVIPURE will be engaged for the preventive maintenance of the solvent exhaust system including replacement of carbon media.

ENVIPURE has secured a further contract award from Samsung C&T to design and supply condensate polisher system for the TENAGA Prai CCGT Power Plant in Malaysia. The design capacity of this externally regenerated deep mixed-bed condensate polisher is 520 m3/h with 100% redundancy, and for 2 power-trains.

ENVIPURE will offer its proprietary technology, ReiTSepTM, that features advance techniques in transfer and separation of ion-exchange resins for external regeneration. The system is designed to meet stringent performance guarantees including resin cross-contamination at <0.1% , as well as removal of trace impurities and dissolved solids from the condensate. In addition to improving the bottom line by reducing damages arising from boiler corrosion and scaling, power-plant owners will also benefit from ReiTSepTM as it is equipped with an intelligent control system that optimises the resin regeneration cycle to realise savings in chemical consumption.

This award represents another significant milestone for ENVIPURE as it build-up its order backlog in its high-purity water treatment business in the power-plant and oil & gas sectors.

Samsung C&T is the appointed EPC Contractor to design and build the 1,070MW CCGT Plant for TENAGA and planned for commissioning in 2016.

ENVIPURE has been awarded the condensate polishing plant for the IRPC UHV Project in Rayong, Thailand. The contract is secured from SK E&C, who in consortiumship with GS E&C, is the EPC Contractor to build a petrochemical plant to produce 30 tons/year of propylene, ethylene, and naphtha from the atmospheric residue, the oil base after gasoline and diesel are extracted. The owner of the plant is IRPC, a subsidiary of Thai state-owned oil company PTT.

ENVIPURE’s condensate polishing plant has a capacity of 264 m3/hr, featuring technologies in mixed-bed ion-exchanger, activated carbon filter and coalesce filter. This order represents another significant milestone for ENVIPURE in its foray in the oil and gas and petrochemical sectors, to design and construct high-purity water treatment plants.

The UHV plant is due for completion and commencing production in 2015.

Samsung C&T has awarded the turnkey contract for demineralised water and waste water treatment plants to ENVIPURE for the 1,070 MW CCGT Power Plant in Prai Malaysia. ENVIPURE’s success in securing this project is attributable to its comprehensive capabilities in offering technological solutions in water, as well as project and site-construction management, delivered on a fast-track basis.

The waste water treatment plant consists an oily-water treatment plant and a highly compact sewage treatment plants, utilizing both chemical and advance biological treatment processes. As for the demineralised water treatment plant, the treatment processes include dual-bed and mixed-bed ion exchangers and activated carbon filters. This plant will produce 30m3/hr of high-purity make-up and feedwater, guaranteeing low levels of corrosion and deposits in the boiler over the power-plant’s life-cycle.

Samsung C&T is the appointed EPC Contractor to design and build the CCGT for TENAGA and planned for commissioning in 2016.

ENVIPURE clinches key air pollution and exhaust system turnkey project for Procter & Gamble Biopolis Innovation Center in Singapore

Oct 2012. ENVIPURE has been awarded a full turnkey air pollution control technology contract to design, supply and commission scrubber exhaust treatment system with a comprehensive exhaust fans and dust collection cum removal facility for a new research and development centre owned by Procter & Gamble in Singapore.

The scope of works includes two trains of acid scrubber exhaust system with a capacity of 84,750m3/h and a full exhaust fan system that can handle up to 160,000 m3/h of general exhaust. There will also be two separate trains of dust collector system capable of treating more than 13,000 m3 dust contaminated air per hour in the center.

With the completion of P&G project, the total air pollution treatment capacity delivered by ENVIPURE will exceed 5,600,000m3/h. The project has commenced in October 2012 with an expected completion by April 2013.

Oct 2012. ENVIPURE Sdn Bhd has been awarded the qualified supplier status by Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN), the National Water Services Commission of Malaysia as an Odor Control technology equipment supplier for Malaysia’s water and sewage treatment plants.

This accreditation allows ENVIPURE to provide odor and in general, air pollution control solutions to the all municipality water infrastructures in Malaysia. This will facilitate ENVIPURE in her bid to promote her Odor and Air pollution control solution in this fast growing Asian state of Malaysia, beyond ENVIPURE’s traditional geographical market of Singapore and the Middle East region. Applications for ENVIPURE’s odor control solution include the sewage treatment infrastructure, the associated pump stations and lifting stations. This attainment further demonstrates ENVIPURE’s quality in the products and services delivery and her ability to provide efficient engineering and technological solutions to her clients.

The accreditation was awarded on 30th September 2012 with a validity of two years and ENVIPURE is proud to further serve the Malaysia market with her range of odor control solutions.

ENVIPURE clinches key industrial process water treatment plant contract with PT Infineon, Batam

August 2012. ENVIPURE has been awarded a full engineering turnkey contract to design and build the process water treatment plant for PT Infineon’s facility in Batam, Indonesia.

The scope of technology package includes ENVIPURE designed reverse osmosis water treatment system, together with a comprehensive pretreatment system that comprises of two trains of Multi Media Filter (MMF), Activated Carbon Filters (ACF) and water softening capability via Ion Exchanger application. The system can handle up to 20 m3/h of surface water input with an optimal output of 15 m3/h of process water.

The project will commence in Sept 2012 and is expected to be completed by Nov 2012.

July 2012. ENVIPURE has been awarded and completed a full EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract to design and build the production facility for Silvador’s new electroplating line with the comprehensive turnkey technology provision in the water, wastewater and exhaust process of the factory owned by RISIS, Singapore.

The scope of works includes the complete civil and M&E works for the factory together with technology packages for demineralized water treatment system with a capacity of up to 15m3/h and waste water treatment plant that can handle up to 15m3/h of waste effluent from the electroplating process. ENVIPURE also designs and builds the whole exhaust process handling system which comprises of a 20,000m3/h acid scrubber, coupled with the general exhaust system equipped with fans, VSD driven MAUs and dust collectors. The efficiently designed system can handle up to 10,000 m3/h of general exhaust with minimum physical footprint required.

The project started in Feb 2012 and was completed in Aug 2012.

ENVIPURE has been awarded a full engineering turnkey contract to design and build the potable water treatment plant to Hyundai Engineering& Construction - the EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning for a Field Development Project in BMS (Bir El Msana) region of middle-Algeria owned by HESS Corp, Petronas Carigali and Sonatrach SPA.

The scope of technology package includes ENVIPURE designed reverse osmosis water treatment system, together with a pretreatment setup that comprises of single train Sand Filter (SF) and UV technology as post treatment process. The system can handle up to 7 m3/h of surface water input with an optimal output of 4.5 m3/h of potable water which meets the water quality as per World Health Organisation requirements.

The project will commence in May 2012 and is expected to be completed by Dec 2012.

April 2012. ENVIPURE has been awarded and completed a full turnkey air pollution control technology contract to design, supply and commission scrubber exhaust system with the comprehensive facility exhaust ducting works by EPC contractor Takasago Singapore for a new production site owned by Hoya Electronics in Singapore.

The scope of works includes a vertical acid scrubber exhaust system with a capacity of 10,000 CMH, the full exhaust ducting system that can handle up to 90,000CMH of exhaust and make-up & drainage water piping system of 300m in length.

The project has commenced in February 2012 with an execution duration of 2 months.

Apr 2012. Envipure has been awarded two technical service contracts by REC to provide water infrastructure operation and maintenance services for the largest solar PV manufacturing facility based in Singapore.

The scope of works for the service contracts encompass both the operational and the preventive maintenance requirements for an evaporator based water recycling system that recycles production waste water and a cooling tower system that provides chilled water for facility cooling.

ENVIPURE clinches key project in Oil & Gas Sector from Petronas

March 2012. ENVIPURE has been awarded a full turnkey EPC water technology contract to design, supply and commission make-up water plants for de-mineralized water and condensate water polishers by the EPC contractor, a consortium of Synerlitz and NEM Energy B.V., for a new LNG distillation boiler owned by MLNG, a subsidiary of Petronas, Malaysia.

The Water Treatment System, that will be located at the plant’s hazardous zone, comprises of the following:

  • API Raw water storage tank of 1500m3 capacity and distribution system
  • Service water and potable water system
  • De-mineralized water system with two trains of sand filers, activated carbon filters, cation + anion exchangers and mixed bed polishers
  • Condensate polishing system with two trains of cartridge filters, carbon filters and condensate polishers
  • Chemical storage and handling facilities
  • Other API storage tanks for returned condensate, boiler feed water and demineralised water tanks
  • DCS control system

The project has since started in March 2012 with an estimated duration of 18 months.

ENVIPURE’s First Odor Pollution Control contract in Bahrain

Feb 2012. Envipure has been awarded a technology package contract by Samsung Engineering Company Limited to provide design services and construction of an Odor Control Plant in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The scope of design includes a wet scrubber combined with activated carbon column solution for a capacity of 32,000m3/hr. The construction duration is projected to be six months with an expected delivery of the odor control system by July 2012.

Successful project completion at REC Singapore

ENVIPURE joined the celebrations with REC during its official opening of its solar-panel manufacturing plant by PM Lee Hsien Loong in Nov 2010. REC's plant at Tuas Singapore is the largest integrated plant in the world with total output capacity of 1.5 GW for solar-wafers, cells and modules.

ENVIPURE was a key partner to REC's design and construction team. Collaborating with the EPC Contractor M+W Group, ENVIPURE was responsible for the turn-key design and build of the Process Exhaust Scrubber Plant, capable of treatment of 92,000 m³/h with contaminants acid, NOx and solvents. In total, ENVIPURE designed and installed nearly 7 km of duct-run.

ENVIPURE was recently awarded the "SAFE CONTRACTOR AWARD" at IMFS for its excellent safety performance and track-record in the project. In addition to delivering on turn-key basis the process-exhaust system, ENVIPURE is also involved in the hook-up of various other sub-systems in this state-of-art plant specialized in manufacturing of flash-memory chips.

ENVIPURE Secures Additional Contract for Qatar Doha North Odor Control System

ENVIPURE has been awarded additional works for the Sewage Treatment Works (STW) in Doha North by the EPC Contractor Keppel Seghers, this time for the damper and flow-control system related to the central Odor Control Plant. The owner of this 450,000 m³/d STW is Ashghal, which is the Public Works Authority of Qatar.

ENVIPURE had in early 2010 already clinched the technology-package contract to design, supply and commission the central Odor Control Plant (OCP) for the STW. When completed in end-2011, it will be the largest in the MENA region with air treatment capacity of 480,000 m³/h to strip all malodorous compounds from the plant off-gases.
